“Inner Voice” is the first release by Just You and the Moon, a Japanese-Peruvian artist living on Ishigaki Island. The project features sound artist Chihei Hatakeyama, who contributed modular synthesizer, electric guitar, mixing, and mastering. In autumn 2024, inspired by the quiet and beauty of the Yaeyama Islands, the artist recorded natural sounds from Iriomote’s sea, rainforest, and eagle calls. She blended these with metroporis sounds from Tokyo, adding piano, synths, and voice. Hatakeyama’s sound design connects the wild nature of Iriomote with the feelings of people far from home. The EP was self-made and recorded between Iriomote Island and Ishigaki Island, expressing solitude and nostalgia following the move from Peru to the Yaeyama. Shohei Nasu, a local tour guide on Iriomote Island, took the cover photo.

On September 8, 2025, during the total lunar eclipse in Ishigaki Island, Just You and the Moon will perform this work live for the first time.

石垣島在住の日系ペルー人アーティスト、Just you and the moon の初EP「Inner Voice」がリリース。畠山地平がModular Synthesizer、Electric Guitar、ミックス、マスタリングで参加。2024年秋、八重山の自然音（西表島の海、熱帯雨林、カンムリワシの声）と、憧憬のメトロポリス・東京をフィールドレコーディングされました。これにピアノ、シンセ、自身の肉声を織り交ぜて制作されたアンビエント音楽。畠山地平氏の空間的な音作りが、西表島の自然と異国に生きる人々の心の声を共鳴させる。南米ペルーから八重山への移住で感じた孤独と郷愁をテーマにした今作は、西表島と石垣島で自主制作・録音。ジャケット写真は、道草屋・那須翔平氏が奥西表エリアで撮影。

9月8日、石垣島で開催される「Total Lunar Eclipse2025」にて、Just you and the moon の初ライブで本作が披露される。

"Inner Voice" es el primer lanzamiento de Just You and the Moon, artista nikkei-peruana residente en la isla de Ishigaki. El proyecto cuenta con la participación del artista de música ambiental Chihei Hatakeyama, quien contribuyó con sintetizador modular, guitarra eléctrica, mezcla y masterización. En otoño de 2024, inspirada por la tranquilidad y la belleza de las islas Yaeyama, Just you and the moon, empezóa grabar sonidos naturales del mar, la selva tropical y los cantos de las águilas de Iriomote. En uno de los temas combina los sonidos metropolitanos de Tokio añadiendo piano, sintetizadores y voz, sumándole el diseño sonoro de Hatakeyama que conecta la naturaleza de las Islas Yaeyama con los sentimientos melancolía de estar lejos de casa. "Inner Voice" fue grabado en la islas Iriomote e Ishigaki, expresando el profundo agradecimiento a todas las experiencias vividas en la Isla y a la naturaleza en su totalidad; también representa la nostalgia tras la mudanza de Perú a Yaeyama. Shōhei Nasu, guía turístico local de la isla de Iriomote realizó la sesión de fotos quedando como foto de portada una de las piedras ubicadas entre las montañas y el oceáno, esta piedra es una de las piezas de una enorme montaña, tiene grietas, texturas grabadas por las colisiones, historias,  huellas acumuladas con los años tal como la piel, nuestros músculos, nuestros recuerdos, tal como el alma. 

El 8 de septiembre de 2025, durante el eclipse lunar total en la isla de Ishigaki, Just You and the Moon interpretará sus obras en vivo por primera vez.
